Marubeni MaruEnergy Caribbean Public Website

Originally a joint venture between Marubeni Corporation and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), MaruEnergy Caribbean owns equity stakes in power generation and transmission facilities in Jamaica, the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, and Curaçao. The company was recently sold back to Marubeni Corporation and changed its name to MaruEnergy Caribbean, Ltd.

MaruEnergy engaged Northridge to design and develop a new corporate website that would include collaborative features and help establish credibility for the new company in the region. The website publicizes the company’s activities in power generation, transmission, and distribution, underscoring its commitment to providing dependable and efficient energy, maintaining environmentally responsible operations, and creating sustainable returns to shareholders.

Northridge designed the Marubeni website to use enticing tropical imagery to call attention to the unique aspects of the region. The use of Flash on the home page adds interactivity to a map of the islands and a dynamic aspect to the interface. Flash was also used to create an interactive map of the company’s investments, highlighting the global nature of the venture.

The site won a 2010 Energy Standard of Excellence WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development.
